Melody’s brother Jeremy writes:
“I’ve honestly never come across anyone
anywhere who was so loved, so admired,
so respected and well thought of as Melody.
I am so proud of you — I always have been
and always will be.
I can remember you as a cute little girl with
pigtails, who then grew into a beautiful young
lady, and then into an incredible woman, wife
and mother. But the thing that never ever
changed was what an amazing sister you were.
Melody was such a devoted daughter —
idolised by our parents. And for good
reason. She was amazing. We had lots to
contend with as a family over the years, but
Melody would always know what to do.”
Melody’s husband Jon writes:
“At the end, Melody was at peace, because she knew she had left her stamp on this world and
on us. She was so proud of us; of the people we had become. But she moulded us into becoming
better people, and the best parts of us are from her. We will cherish that gift forever!
Mel was the bravest person I ever met, 昀椀ercely loyal and a 昀椀ghter! From the day she was born, she
had to 昀椀ght and be a mum for her wonderful parents, taking on the big responsibility of being a
pair of ears and a voice for her parents.
She would defend her loved ones with
everything — if you were one of her people she
would do anything for you.
Harry and Libby, you have your mum inside
you, and she will make you strong even when
you feel like you can’t go on.
As for me, I will always have her voice in my
head guiding me, telling me the right thing to
do. Whenever I need to make any decision,
all I need to do is ask, “What would Melody
do?” and I will 昀椀nd the right way forward.”
We couldn’t agree more.
Melody’s legacy will live on, and the
lovely memories we carry with us
will always make us smile. May her
soul shine bright and her spirit live
on in all of us.
