Mondays busy and Dcafe thriving!
Read what we’ve been up to and see what an action-packed
programme we have for you this Autumn!
We’ve lined up more Tuesday talks by members of the Dcafe
community. If you come to Dcafe, you know everyone here…
but what do you know about their life? Come and discover Deaf
people’s diverse life experiences, their upbringing, life in another
country, their career. We have so much to learn from each other
— and, by getting to know each other better, we will have even
greater understanding and respect for each other. Please join us
for these popular talks.
Don’t miss SignHealth’s talk about Grooming on Tuesday
16 September. The Deaf Community has fallen victim to grooming.
Cyber grooming is rife online and on mobile phones. You may
be emailing or texting someone new and believe you can trust
them, then give away money or your personal details to a criminal.
Grooming can also happen face to face — someone you know well
could be manipulating and taking advantage of you. Come and
learn how to protect yourself from becoming a victim!
There will be Deaf Family Fun on Sunday 19 October at JDA
with entertainment by Eldi the Balloon Hero — another great
opportunity for Deaf parents and their young Deaf and hearing
children to enjoy together.
Our popular Festive Lunch is on Tuesday 16 December with
entertainment from Deaf comedian Tammy Broskom and
Deaf magician Alex Mills. Save the date and book your
ticket now!
All Deaf BSL users are welcome at our fantastic Tuesday and
Wednesday talks! Check out the programme, come along, enjoy
everything… and bring your friends! We’d love to welcome them
to our JDA community!
