WE ARE LOOKING FOR DEAF VOLUNTEERS
Like chatting? Do you have time to visit an isolated Deaf person at home?
Join our Befriending Team!
Sandra David writes:
Hello everyone!
I am very happy to
be the new volunteer
co-ordinator of JDA’s
new and much-needed
befriending project.
I will organise a
schedule of volunteers
to visit isolated JDA members — either in their
own homes or in their care homes.
Seeing a friendly Deaf person for a good old natter
will lessen their isolation and give them something
to smile about!
▲ Debbie Masters (Leslie Masters’ daughter) and
Janet Coombs visit Stella Seymour and brighten
her day
We really need more volunteers of all ages.
Are you able to volunteer your valuable time and
visit someone?
You will be free to choose:
■ How often you visit
■ Which day suits you
■ What time suits you
■ The areas you can travel
to visit the isolated person.
▲ Barry David spends time chatting with Martin
Binysh at his care home
If you or anyone you know would like to volunteer,
please DO contact me on this mobile number: 07542 196452.
I will then contact you/others to discuss suitable arrangements.
Let’s get this o昀昀 to a great start and support isolated Deaf members with lovely company!
Thanks, Sandra
